Any advice on which way I should go?
Hello everyone, well I am in a quandary as I know what I would love to be doing in my life - which is to be a part-time reiki practitioner and part-time nanny/care for children. I just dont know how to become employed by somebody as a reiki practitioner as cant afford to set up on my own and am worried that I'm in too much debt to ever set up my own practice :-( I am studying for a qualification in childcare and know I will get there but that also costs money as I'll need to get all the relevant checks done before starting that properly although I could do evening babysitting work that perhaps wouldnt pay all my bills. I currently work as a legal secretary and am not earning enough to do the Reiki level 2 degree (I have Reiki 1 though) and am just wondering if any of you have any info that might be able to help me. I know you can practice with Reiki 1 and am trying to get my life in balance before beginning to treat others properly, having done so on friends & family so far. I am in the UK so not sure if rules/regs would be different in America although I am trying to research it. Do you feel my dream career might possibly work out? Also will I ever be happy in a true and committed relationship with somebody who loves me as much as I do them (in the right way)? Crossroads seem to be all around me at the moment.

Hi Lucinda,
I not long ago took the leap of faith to start practicing on my own and due to not having money to open up my place I just set up a studio in my home. I am not sure of the legalities in your country but here you can practice Reiki if you are a Licensed Massge Therapist or havebeen ordained as a minister. Working from home has its ups and downs like the fact aht I am not as in the public eye for clients and then some female clients might not feel secure in the home of a male therapist they do not know. However the spa atmoshpere around here is not the way I would like to run my work and I'm not sure of any place that even employ Reiki practioners such as myself. I have seen some ruff months financialy and some good ones but when it looks hard I remain focused on the fact that this is the way it should be now and it alwyas comes through. The perks of doing what you love out way the money in doing what you are not happy with :)
As for the relationship question, it seems that people like ourselves have a hard time finding anyone that is willing to love the way we do. As sensitives and healers we feel more deepley at levels that otheres may not and this tends to cause problems. Let me guess you often feel they don't care enough or feel that the little things you do are not reciprecated by your loved one and it seems they just aren't putting forth the same love and compassiona you are.... maybe you have thought that you feel you are an agent in life that is somehow used as a stepping stone for otheres to learn from but when is it our turn to find this love and companionship that we all strive for... this I cannot answer but seek the answers for myself... I hope I may have helped you in some way and wish you best of luck in your path to starting your business and finding happiness where ever you may go :)
